Have we maybe found a way around it with this episode? We officially have two of them now...

Good thought! Unless they sent him off there now though it would mean keeping him in storage or something. It would explain why he doesnt have a TARDIS with him in the opener though

I would tend to say yes ... but at the point in TIA when the Doctor dies Amy says "Is it a clone or a copy".. Then Canton says "That really is the Doctor and he is most definitely dead"

That just seemed to close off cloning - but you might be on to something

But as the Doctor pointed out, they are exactly the same. Heart, lungs, etc. How would Canton have known the difference?

I completely agree and you might well be right. This is just a pure gut feeling and I can't explain why, I just think this is a little too obvious.

I think that having the clone as the Doctor who dies might be a bit too easy as a way to 'get out'. That said though, I don't think there will be a satisfactory conclusion to that story no matter what because it is going to seem like a copout however they do it

I'm not going to say that it does have something to do with E1 but I don't think we can rule any of it out until we see what happens next week! But to me it does seem a possible answer at this point in time!

I think its as good a theory as any, but I personally would feel a little cheated if it was a simple as that. I don't know exactly what I am expecting from the outcome, but I want it to be something I would never have thought and clone or doppleganger is something that my mind went to as soon as I knew he was dead. It can't be that easy

My theory - The Doctor dies in episode one. The clone lives as the 'new' Doctor (for now...!!!)

I just can't imagine the Doctor, or even Rory would allow the Ganger Doctor go off to die to save the 'real' Doctor. I imagine if the Doctor had to face something, he would face it himself.
