The classic red herring. Throw something in that looks like it's sure to be significant, when in fact it means nothing at all, thereby sending people down all sorts of plot-theory blind alleys. I love it.

I feel more inclined to think that this is what it was as apposed to just a plot hole, because they really did play it up last week like it was meant to be significant. Those dirty dogs

I did wonder about that too... I'm assuming that its purpose was fulfilled the second time it got looked at... either that or it will be in the next episode...

Well I don't like red herrings. I really thought it was going to lead to something important

I love a good red herring, is wonderful for writing purposes, but then I am the kind of writer to give you 5 red herrings and half an answer all the way through to the end.... potentially that mean anyway

It just occurred to me last night.... We are assuming it means nothing at this stage..
Who's to say it might not be important later on?

I get annoyed when people do that, I liked the idea that it was going to be huge but when it was nothing I got annoyed red herrings are a pain

There's a good explanation in another thread, that the fact the ganger didn't get the cold implies that Ganger Amy wouldn't have actually been pregnant.
