I was really impressed with the CGI throughout this story. DW, even with the advancements of modern years, is often a bit ropey with the graphics, and when Jen was in monster form it put me in mind of the awful CGI of Lazarus, only this didn't look awful. By comparison this looked amazing. I thought they did a brilliant job throughout

I can definately see why you would link the two as they were sort of similar in how they looked and moved, but the CGI for this was one, as you said, was far superior to Lazarus. The CGI in that episode was dreadful. This, with the flesh and the monster and the eye balls etc, all looked really good

I have wondered about the CGI since the switch to HD, and you're right tonight was much better. I thought the CGI on TDW was quite average (about the only thing I didn't adore about it). So it was a welcome change not to have to make allowances.

With that episode though I would imagine the money was spent elsewhere because the sets and costumes were all quite grand

I guess you are right - and it is only a minor quibble Smiley But in general, I agree and I thought the CGI throughout the two episodes of this story was nice and unobtrusive

The thing they did with Jens mouth when it was all stretched open was brilliant and terrifying. It reminded me of an old japanese film I saw a few years ago

They definately stepped it up this week with the CGI and it was well worth it. This episode was essentially the cheap episode of the series so I think they could afford to stretch the budget to where it was more needed and it paid off nicely

Ringu?

That was abit much for a primetime family show, surprised they got away with it. I damn near sh1t myself, never minds kids!!

On a related note, I mentioned elsewhere too - the "monster Jen" reminded me a lot of the Harry Potter 3 werewolf design.

That sounds familiar, it might have been that.

I know what you mean though, it was very scary. If I was a kid I'd have bricked it seeing that. It looked awesome though
