I have to say, this series Karen Gillan has been on top form and played her role brilliant with a huge improvement on last year. But more than that, the production team seem to finally have worked out how to write for her character and she is now just more likeable and more enjoyable to watch.
So I am a little concerned now that after all the improvement for the character, it was all just going to be 'ganger' aspect of her and we will soon have the old Amy back on our screens. Don't get me wrong, I liked Amy before, but I much prefer the Amy we have been watching over the last 5 or so weeks. She has grown and developed so much that I really think it will be a shame if they decide to emphasize the difference between the two by bringing back shouty obnoxious Amy

But if this 'ganger' Amy has been getting her thoughts and how she acts and everything from the real Amy then surely there's not going to be much difference? if that made any sense at all!

Well you never know. The Gangers in the monastry were aware they were gangers even before the storm changed them. Amy wasn't aware, so perhaps there are slight personality differences. They couldnt let real Amy have control over her Ganger, at least not fully like the workers did at first, because otherwise she would just walk up to the Doctor and say 'I'm a ganger'

I agree that there had to be a connection. That is why the ganger was having the labor pains and seeing the eye-patch lady, at least that is how I took it. But I agree with the Doc that I will be upset if the ganger was only taking on some of the better Amy qualities and that we get back the Amy from last season. Hoping they won't do that though!

Well I don't know about links and clones and avatars and what they all might mean for the character, but I do know that I really like the development shown in Amy this year and think it will be a real shame if she goes back to being all obnoxious and glary eyed once she is rescued

Moff said on DWC that the Ganger Amy was reflecting the real Amy's heart & soul (and I'm assuming that Amy, unlike the people in the monastery, did not know she was inhabiting an avatar) so I'm not expecting a change, or at least not a major one.
That said what she is about to go through & the realisation of what's she been going through will have an impact but again I doubt it will result in her sliding backwards but in her continuing to evolve.

I think when Amy realises that Rory has been sleeping with Ganger Amy, we will see a fair bit of the old Amy seeping through. Because I can tell you now (assuming they go down this route of course) as far as Amy will be concerned, Ganger Amy is a whole other woman and I know if I was in Amy's postition it would simply come down to 'You should have just known'. Like in Buffy when Faith switched with Buffy then slept with Riley. The circumstances are different but the scenario is similar. I'm not saying they will be having sex talk in DW, but relationship wise it could be something very interesting too explore for the pairing

True, but then again we could get another Martha reaction... like Martha felt so bad for her clone...

The Martha clone also knew she was a clone, and didn't share post-cloning memories with the real Martha. The clone Amy was not aware of it's nature, and seemed to have a continuous link to the real one throughout it's existence. It seemed to me to be implied that the real Amy will remember the Flesh Amy's experiences as her own.
