Torchwood: Web Of Lies

I just read on the Entertainmet Weekly site that an online animated “motion comic” series based on Starz upcoming Torchwood: Miracle Day, titled Torchwood: Web of Lies, will be starting prior to the July 8th series opener.  The star of this animated comic is none other than Eliza Dushku.

I didn't realise it was animated. Jane Espenson announced a few weeks ago that there would be an online series to accompany the main series and the Eliza Dushku contribution was strongly hinted at (its all in the spoiler thread) but I didnt think it would be animated. That makes me more excited for it. I don't really go in for web content as I think more often than not its a bit of a wasted effort, so I wasn't massively excited for Web Of Lies, but for some reason the fact that it's animated appeals to me more

I'm so glad Eliza Dushku has been confirmed. I'd have hated it if it turned out to be a tease

Yeah, I didnt know it was animated either, thats kind of a bummer. Seeing Barrowman hit on Dushku would be great

They should have brought her into the main show. The fans would have loved it I'm sure. I think this will definately be interesting and it's good that the main cast will have cameos. 3 minutes each seems a bit short. I suppose all in all though a 30 minute story could be cool and it will probably end up on the DVD

I'm beginning to think the BBC hate us. Most of fandom is about to be shafted again as it turns out they were telling a slight porky about the web content.

It will now only be available to people who own Apple products such as iPad or iPhone etc. On top of that, you have to pay for it as an app.

The first episode will be released for free but the remaining nine episodes will have to be purchased inside the app in packs of three, each for $0.99/59p. A special bundle for all 10 narratives and a game can be purchased for $2.99/£1.79.

Oh they're just taking the p!ss now! I have an iPhone but I aint paying for it and it's stupid that they would even ask. I can't imagine many people will be happy about this

I downloaded the app. Its free. So was Ep 1.

After the episode, you play 2 games to gain more information. One is a "web" of words you have to connect together.

I heard you have to pay for the subsequent eps, which needless to say I wont do. But it was fun to explore.

I'm surprised there's nothing on here about this yet, but iTunes so if you have iPod touch, iPhone or iPad you can download this for free. It works alongside the episodes of Miracle day- the first pack comes free but you have to purchase the subsequent episode packs.

Not too sure how it works to be honest I haven't managed to get it working on my iPod touch, so if anyone else has got it working please say!!

Suggest you try it though it looks quite good.
