Did anyone else get a real sense of foreshadowing of Rory's death?
I've only watched the episode once so far, but I remember feeling it when River looked sadly at him (as if he'd died recently) or ... maybe just because he's her Dad? That seems unlikely though as they've met before.
There were other bits in there too which I can't remember, but I know some of you will (and I'll rewatch tomorrow).
So yes - will this season end with the actual death of Mr Pond?

I don't particularly think that this episode was forshadowing his death, but I do think that he will die rather than voluntarily leave the TARDIS. He has died way too many times now for there not to be a payoff. That's not to say I want them to die, but I just think that sooner or later he isn't going to get back up again and I think it will take us all by surprise because we are so used to him not staying dead.
Its mentioned in another thread that the skeleton hand from the end of the episode might be Rory's and I think now that it might actually be right

Yeah, I didn't see the skeleton hand (damn download!) but just saw the thread. Definitely could be Rory.

The look from River I thought was just because she hadn't seen him for a long time. If the pattern of going backwards for her is still in play for this story, then it's the first time she has seen Rory as we know him, perhaps the first time for her in years. I also thought it might just be the 'dad' thing.
As for Rory dying? Definately.

When Rory was with the dying Sontaran, he said he wasn't a warrior, he was a nurse. Rory got this awful look on his face, and I got a huge death foreshadowing vibe right there.

I don't think it's just Rory, either. Just as Rory was a nurse turned warrior like Strax, both Lorna and Amy ran with the Doctor as little girls only to find him again later. Just something that got me thinking, anyway.

That was it! I knew there was something else. Thanks MW
