After watching this I can really see why he gets so many comparisons to Matt Smith. They both have this quirky playful style but can turn so serious in the blink of an eye. He seemed to have this randomness in the way he spoke like he isn't quite sure what words are going to come out and I really like that but at the same time he seems quite calculated so no matter how confused he seemed to be you sort of always knew he was in control of the situation too. The other classic Doctor I have seen is Jon Pertwee and they are vastly different but I really like both. I had high expectations for the second Doctor because of all the good stuff that I have read on here that people write about him, and I wasn't let down with him in this story

The Second Doctor was amazing. It's really as simple as that. What he did with the role, the chemistry he had with his companions, everything about him was just truly inspired. And the worst part about it all is that so little of his tenure survives these days. In televised form at least. Luckily of his stories that survive and are complete, 95% of them are awesom. The other 5% is The Dominators

Absolutely spot on!! I think the Second Doctor is amazing and he probably had the toughest job of all the actors taking the role of being the first new face but he completely made it his own. As TwistedSister says, its just such a shame so much of his work is lost

My favourite Doctor of all. Well, join fave with MS now! He puts in a brilliant performance in this serial, but then he always does. Even in a story which is a bit of a clunker like The Dominators, PT's performance can rarely be faulted. He brings a brilliant childlike nature and a brilliant mind and mashes them together and gives us this brilliantly alien quirky quality that was such a huge change from what had come before him. It was a big risk not following what was already a popular formula and he could have easily played it the same as William Hartnell for safety, but he didn't and it paid off brilliantly

Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and The Doctor comes to call, everybody lives.

I love the similarities between the two. Of all the classic Doctors, Two was by far the most 'alien' to my mind and I think Matt channels it perfectly. Eccleston didn't really get much of a shot for me to make an informed opinion and Ten was just like a random bloke. Matt and Troughton share some brilliant qualities in the role
