Just had an idea for a fun thread, so here goes...

Is there any person, alien race, spaceship, city, jelly baby, anything that has appeared in Doctor Who before, that you would like to see again in the next series (or 2nd half of the current series).  This is not restricted to the new series, anything goes...

I'll start off with:
The Zocci - I loved Bannakaffalatta, and if all of the race are as interesting and heroic, I think we should see them again.  The Vinvocci were nowhere near as good.

Oh yeah, I definitely agree with that.  With Lucie Miller!

I love Lucie Miller.

I would like the Zygons to return. So much could be done with them and visually they look great

My wife would love the see the Vykoids in an episode.  Kinda like a cross between Terry Pratchett's "Wee Free Men" and Roald Dahl's "Oompa-loompas", but able to manipulate time so that they can move so fast as to be invisible.

She would also like to see Dirk Slipstream teamed up with River Song on a less-than-legal archiological adventure.

Well, so far, we have the 8th Doctor, with Lucie, Jenny and Tegan, fighting the Zygons, and being helped by a band of brave Zocci.  I'd watch that!  Grin

I think the Ice Warriors should also make a comeback, it's been too long since we saw them (not since Jon Pertwee's era).

I don't think this really counts as  return 'cuz he's only been gone for a season and a half, but the Master coming back would be nice.

Also a season finale kind of Dalek encounter would be cool (still doesn't count because it's only been the specials and a season and a half), but I heard we won't be seeing much of them because SM doesn't like the Daleks Cry

Now to think of something that actually counts... The Tenth Doctor? There's three years of his life we didn't see (he became three years older between Waters of Mars and The End of Time), I'm sure they could work him into the next half of this season somehow...

As I understand it, it is not that Moffat doesn't like the Daleks but that he feels they need a rest as they have been used a lot since the return of the show in 2005. In the Classic series they were frequently absent for extended periods of time - years in some cases - so this isn't unprecedented. I think their absence will do them some good - they can come back bigger & badder than ever  Smiley

I agree, a multiple-Doctor episode is overdue!  Maybe get Ecclestone, Tennant and Smith working together, but it would be nice to have an episode comprising all 11 doctors!

In the 5 Doctors, they got Richard Hurndall to play the 1st Doctor, could do that again for all the ones who have died, although not sure they'd easily find a Jon Pertwee look-a-like/sound-a-like, and both Tom Baker and Colin Baker look nothing like their Doctor characters now...

That'd be really cool if they could pull it off, though I hope that if they did they would come up with a more creative title than "The Eleven Doctors"...

Have you seen the Ice Warriors? They aren't exactly made of Ice Tongue Grin

I want Jenny and Vashtra to return. Preferably in their own spinoff

The Eight Legs would be high on my list of baddies. With todays tech I think they could be realised so well, and they were brilliantly understated baddies.

In terms of people, I would quite like to see Rita again from The God Complex. She was a great character. Dead, but great.
