Biggest poll on the forum yet, I think 32 stories to choose from, which was the best opener for a series? I went with Spearhead From Space though it was a tossup between that and The Impossible Astronaut for me

There were at least half a dozen I was tempted by, old and new, but I went with Tomb of the Cybermen.

I very nearly went with 'Tomb' but decided on 'Spearhead' instead. I was obsessed with it as a kid and I still always enjoy it now

It was a three way tie for me between "Terror of the Autons", "The Three Doctors" and "Castrovalva". So i tossed a coin and decided upon Remembrance of the Daleks. A crackling little tale from Ben Aaronovitch full of lovely little back references without being heavy handed. Ace was wonderful, that fella from Upstairs Downstairs did a brilliant impression of the Brigadier. Pilot Toos from Robots of Death turned up as did Mr Bronson. But a-top the tree is the majestic performance of Percy James Patrick Kent-Smith aka Sylvester McCoy. This performance was everything I want from a the Time Lord. He was the cosmic sprite of Troughton, mingled with the authority of Pertwee, mingled with Davison's easy manner and wrapped up with his own personal charisma. To say I love this story is something of an understatement - one of the finest stories in Who's glorious 50 year history.

Oh, that's tough with so many to choose from. The scope and pace of the older episodes vs. the new make them so different. Of the Classic series I love Jon Pertwee in Spearhead from Space. Shoes!! LOL But the post-regeneration kitchen scene in The Eleventh Hour had us in stitches and still cracks me up every time I watch it. All trepidation about Matt Smith went down the drain, along with the evil beans. Bad, bad beans...

I was stuck between Catrovalva and Eleventh Hour. Went for Eleventh hour in the end, as Catrovalva is kind of a follow of from Logopolis, so unless you watch the two together I think you get a bit left out/lost, whereas The Eleventh Hour is kind of totally a stand alone story which will perfectly introduce any viewer into Who.

I went with The Eleventh Hour, mostly because it managed to do what I thought was impossible- ween me off of David Tennant.
