A five from me.  It has a few minor faults, but nowhere near enough to take off a point.  A brilliant story.

Just watched the last 2 eps - and I'm crying at the ending  Cry

Great story. Brilliant iconic images of the Daleks at various London landmarks. I love the part that all of the lead characters have their own stories/journeys away from the others, and that those threads all tied together neatly by the end.

I gave it full marks  Smiley

I'm watching it now so sort of reviewing it at the same time. So far I LOVE it. A very strong and coherant story with some great sets and the cast are great. I won't rate it until I finish though

Also, its probably not even a connection, but there are a few things that keep making me think of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, such as Ian saying 'Bring out your dead', and the "holy" hand grenade. I'm not saying they are linked in any way, but it just reminded me of it.

4/5 from me. There are a few bits and pieces that I am not so keen on, but on the whole a great story.

The story was great and the acting was on form, but my full marks are awarded mainly for the Daleks. They were used brilliantly and had a very creepy/scary feel to them. Even over 6 episodes they didn't feel at all wasted and they were every bit as emotionless and alien as they should be. Currently writers could do with giving some of these old stories a rewatch if you ask me

Oh and the Dalek rising out of the water is now one of my favourite cliffhangers! Brilliant

I went for 5, though had the option been available I'd have gone with 4.5. I have a couple of niggles with the story, but not enough to warrant taking a whole point off

I went with a four. Its a good story, but a lot of the supporting characters were a bit annoying.

Argh right, sorry been a little slow, but I'm finished now.

Actually surprised how much I enjoyed this one, and some may have seen on Twitter how excited I got about the Dalek coming out of the water!  Embarrassed Grin Grin Best thing ever!

I think I got a little lost in the middle cause I watched it over a few days couldn't remember what happened and by the time I reached the end of the last part I could hardly remember the first episode! *sigh* Oh well.

Really enjoyed it actually! 4/5 for me, simply because I can't really cope with long long stuff! I forget what happens!  Sad

Quite possibly, along with The Talons of Weng-Chiang and Father's Day, the most overrated Doctor Who story ever. Sure, there's the "iconic" imagery and Susan's departure is handled kinda-sorta nicely but the story groans over the six harrowing episodes. It starts with the Dalek rising from the river (What were they doing there, in the first place?) and continues with the completely ridiculous Robomen and the 100% abysmal flying saucer. The idea that this is an earlier point in Dalek history defies everything we learned in the first Dalek story and later stories and how in heaven's name are they supposed to put a propulsion unit in the 9,800 degree (Fahrenheit) Earth's core without it burning up. While we're on that subject, why would that make the Earth fly around the universe? I'm sorry but the reasons above, along with the bad modelwork and other elements too numerous to name, make this pure dreck. The 1966, Peter Cushing film version, fortunately, is a thousand times better and well worth a purchase.
