I thought it might be a cool idea to look at what was going on in the world during the time when this story was on the air. You don't have to have been alive (I certainly wasn't) but you can always check google and other places for stuff of interest.

This might be a silly idea, but if people like it perhaps we could make it a regular thing for each story?

Anyway, these are a few that I found on Google.

November 15 - The Supremes were number 1 in the UK and US with Baby Love. I Feel Fine by The Beatles was number 1 in Australia

November 28 - NASA launches the Mariner 4 space probe from Cape Kennedy toward Mars to take television pictures of that planet in July 1965.

December 6 The 1-hour stop-motion animated special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, based on the popular Christmas song, premieres on NBC. It becomes a beloved Christmas tradition, still being shown on television more than 40 years later.

December 10 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, Norway.

Ooh good idea T-C - this provides a nice little snapshot of where the world was at back then, esp good for those of us who weren't around. I'll certainly contribute any I find to each one  Smiley
