I have opened this poll and thread because we are collecting data in order to rank stories. Please could you take a minute and rate this story? Smiley

You do not need to give a reason for your vote, though obviously feel free to do so as it is a good way of initiating discussions Smiley

I went for a three for this, though I suspect I was perhaps being a bit generous. There were some absolutely brilliant aspects jammed into what was a bit of a silly story. The farting was way too much for me. It went beyond silly or funny into the realms of childishness. The male Slitheen were a bit to camp and hammy for my liking too. Mickey was at his most annoying too.

Harriet though was superb throughout. Brilliantly realised character. The plot, with a few tweaks, could have potentially been brilliant. I like the idea of the story a lot and I think it could have be far more enjoyable than it was, but it also isn't as bad as many would make out, imo

This gets a three from me. Saber has listed all of it's good points, so I won't reitterate them, but for me the drawbacks are the Slitheen and the farting. I found both annoying enough to knock two points off, but the rest of it I thought was decent enough

This gets a two from me. I think parts of the story were a bit sloppily written and the Slitheen were awful. Actually no, the Slitheen could have worked for me if it wasn't for the farting and the bad acting from the men who played them. I did like Margaret Slitheen though. Harriet Jones was an absolute genius bit of writing too. And of course in introduced Tosh, who is awesome, even if it was a tiny part

1 from me. This was total and utter tripe from start to finish in my opinion. I know that's not exactly constructive but I just really can't find the good in it

I gave this a 4 - it was the first time that I really got an impression of the scale that Nu-Who was going to operate on. The SFX and the Slitheen were beautifully realised. The story wasn't a stinker - prospectors seeking to sell the earth for scrap was a reasonable premise. Overall I found this a bit of a romp and quite enjoyed it

A very generous 2 from me for this. While I thought the plot was actually quite brilliant, I think the overall story wasn't great and some elements were dreadful. Like a lot of people, the farting for me was too much

This one got a 2 from me. There was very little in there to like and all the bas stuff has been highlighted by others above. Harriet Jones saved the story from being a complete loss for me

3 from me. It had all the basic elements of a good story, was well-structured, had a few really memorable scenes (the spaceship hitting Big Ben, the killing of the pig-pilot, the blowing up of Downing Street, killing the alien with pickles etc) and it had the always wonderful Harriet Jones; but it was badly let down by some appalling acting, far too many fart-jokes and the presence of Micky the Idiot.

I give it a two. The farting was in poor taste, the ability of the episode to keep me interested as far as tone and editing, plus the plot wasn't anything special. I wasn't impressed.
