I have opened this poll and thread because we are collecting data in order to rank stories. Please could you take a minute and rate this story? Smiley

You do not need to give a reason for your vote, though obviously feel free to do so as it is a good way of initiating discussions Smiley

Full marks from me for this story. It's pretty much pitch perfect and probably the strongest story of the first new series. Eccleston was at his absolute peak, the story was solid and exciting and gripping, the introduction of Jack was spot on and that kid in the gas mask was scary as hell. This was probably the first story since the revival that had a real classic feel to it for me

This got a three from me. I agree with a lot of what Saber said, only I thought at times the story felt a bit weak and stretched out. I'm not big on 'war' stories, so that could possibly be why I am not so keen on it compared to others, and since setting is such a big part of it that was enough for me to mark it down a bit.

This one gets a four from me. All the good things have already been mentioned above, but the downsides for me include the fact that I really don't like Jack in this story very much and while I understand the reasoning, I don't like the gasmasks either.

One of my favourite scenes though that nobody has mentioned is Jack and Rose dancing on top of his ship to (I think) Glen Miller. Lovely piece of music and a great scene.

He is also vain, ego-centric and quite mad

One of the best Doctor Who stories of either the Nu-Who or Classic Era. So many reasons to love it. A 5 all the way Smiley

One of my favorites.  Plus the introduction of Captain Jack!  Smiley

I gave this a four. I think it was in a bit of an awkward postion where it needed longer than standard episode length, but there wasn't quite enough for 2 episodes and so it got a bit of filler rammed in to top it up. I also really didn't like the cliffhanger resolution. The acting though was brilliant with a really good guest cast and the story itself was pretty good too.

Another three from me for this. While I do think its a good solid story, I do think it's a bit overhyped and I don't think its any more exceptional than most other stories

Three from me. It is enjoyable enough but it's a bit long and most of the first part could have been condensed down and tacked on to part to to give a shorter more solid story. I also think its way too overhyped, but obviously can't mark it down for that

Five. Great plot, riveting tone, awesome acting, and has time for character moments as well as scary moments. Nowadays in the reign of Moffat-run Who and even before then, really, I can spot out his particular trademarks in this story very strongly.
