Tom Milligan Support Team

I don't know how many of you agree with me but I think Tom Milligan deserves some recognition. Even though his part in the series 3 finale was small, I would've liked to see his character explored some more throughout the series. On hearing the news of Martha's engagement to him, my hopes grew for a reappearence. Unfortunately, all dreams of his return were scrapped in "The End Of Time Part 2" when we discover Martha left Tom and married Mickey. Who else was disappointed by this turn of events?

I would have liked to see his and Marthas relationship develop more tbh. Her being married off to Mickey was ridiculous

I think it was just an easy way to wrap it all up. They must've thought the Doctor visiting Martha & Mickey seperately would've taken too much time. Which is ridiculous. They could've had a married Martha & Tom working with Mickey or something. That way the Doctor gets to see Martha and Mickey at the same time, and Martha/Tom shippers get to see a happy ending. Everyone's happy.

well people for Mickey/Martha is that so there are alike Mickey loved Rose but Rose fell for the Doctor Martha was in love with the Doctor the Doctor loved Rose.

now on to Tommy boy here yeah I loved him so it REALLY brothers me when people just say he break up with Martha I think Tom loved Martha my idea is that Tom died I know sad but it saved the Martha/Tom thing with out nether of them looking like a jerk.

This is my problem with the Martha/Mickey wrapup. I loved them both individually and I have no problem with them ending up with each other because they finally found in each other the right people who understood them and respected them inside and out the way they were never respected by The Doctor and Rose. But I don't think that was the intent of putting them together. It was shoddy, especially given Martha's buildup with Tom, which went as far as an engagement. So this means, in a matter of months after becoming engaged to Tom (since when she was on her honeymoon on TW, it was meant to be with Mickey), that she broke up with Tom and jumped into marriage with Mickey. It reflects badly on Martha's character, IMO, which really upsets me, and completely ruins things with Tom (and I wasn't even necessarily a Martha/Tom shipper, although they seemed nice enough in the S3 finale).

But I digress. From the little bit we saw of and heard about Tom, he was pretty awesome  , and it's too bad they didn't have a proper conclusion between him (and Martha). An off screen breakup was a disservice to him, especially when they had made it all the way to an engagement, not just the dating phase of a relationship.
