I have opened this poll and thread because we are collecting data in order to rank stories. Please could you take a minute and rate this story? Smiley

You do not need to give a reason for your vote, though obviously feel free to do so as it is a good way of initiating discussions Smiley

I went with a 4.
Really great story, but I just can't bring myself to give it a 5 for some reason.
Can't quite put my finger on why.
But this is absolute classic...

King Louis: "What the hell is going on?"
Reinette Poisson: "Oh. This is my lover, the king of France."
The Doctor: "Yeah? Well I'm the Lord of Time."

I went with a 4 but it nearly got a three because I was being bitter about how overhyped the story is. Yes, I do like it and I think it is well written, but there are some fans out there who act like this story was the second coming or something. I also appreciate it less because Moff has taken a formula that worked well here and rammed it into every story he has done since, whether it needed it or not and the show has gone timey wimey barmy, which I think has left a blemish on this one.

Full marks from me. I thought this was a beautifully crafted story and I loved the way that the doctor dipped in and out of Reinette's life and timey wimeyness of it. I do agree with what's said above though about it being so overdone now that it makes this seem less special.

5 from me. A beautiful story love it so much. Love the timey wimey stuff (typical Moff) but it's not too much if that makes sense?

This one would get a four from me. Mickey being the idiot is what lost it the point.

This is probably my fave ep of S2. I love the period setting that they use & as I always say with period ones, the costumes are lovely. I really like the Clockwork Robots - the idea & the design - although obviously their motives are quite horrific. There are some great lines in it as well. Full marks.

I gave it a 4, I think it is a very solid story and while I love a lot of it and the fact that it is wibbly wobbly, what I like it, as Karen says it is a show about Time Travel, it works, I think it gets too much recognition and I don't think he achieved his objective as I always forget it is focusing on the monster under your bed, which it isn't I don't think..

Plus, I love the Doc and Arthur Smiley "I let you keep Mickey!"

4 from me. A very good episode, great story done really well, but doesn't quite have the extra 'something' to earn it full marks. Definitely the best episode of series 2 though.

I went with a four. I enjoy this story but there are a few bits that I don't like so much. Mickey, again, is top of that list

4 out of 5 from me. Definately one of the stronger stories from the season

Brilliant concept, beautifully executed and some spell binding moments "Oooh, you've had some cowboys in here".

A five all the way!

Five for all the reasons above. Such a great story, self-contained, historical yet futuristic, romantic yet sad, and great villain designs.
