Am I the only person who thinks he sort of went off the boil with this? We only have episode 1 to go off at the moment, and at times the music was great and very reminiscent of earlier TW, but the rest of the time it seemed all over the place. The reworking of the theme is pretty dreadful, then there was bits of rock n roll riffs when they were jumping out the window, then stuff at the hospital felt a bit country and western. None of the music seemed to fit together very well, and a lot certainly didn't seem to fit the episode.

It was awful.
I think series 5/6 of Who drained his talent.
The reworking of the theme is a pile of crap.

I harp on about it a lot, sorry if anyone's tired of me, but an intro like that sets the tone for something depressing, serious, and possibly in documentary form.

When I tune in, I want that glorious, loud, bass filled theme that get's you going "f*ck yeah, Captain Jack's back!"

Don't get me wrong, I believe CoE didn't have the proper banging theme either, but it had something that suited the nature of the story.

I have to agree. I thought the music was all over the place. It wasn't bad as such, but a lot of the time it didn't seem to fit the scenes and I am sure I heard the Partners In Crime music in there reworked slightly. Seemed a bit of a lazy effort

Some of it was great, some of it was just bizarre. What was with the western music? I expected Eleven to turn up with his stetson

But it had no place in that episode all the same

He's murdered the theme tune, which seems even worse with the visual in place too. It all looks too medical rather than scifi. I also wasn't keen on the incidental music throughout the episode. He just didn't seem to get the feel of it right, especially the cheesy rock n roll riffs whenever there was a bit of action

One thing I will say, after my rewatch of the "8 minutes longer but not really cos it's just a trailer" BBC1 version, his music during when Esther is searching all the files was very Ghostbusters.

Big improvement this week on the music I thought. It seemed to fit the scenes better and flowed really well compared to last weeks.
