I liked it. Still slow, but I think the set up is done now, especially given Gwens last line to Esther:

"Welcome to Torchwood".

Espensons ep is next, so Im looking forward to it Cheesy

Loved episode 2.
All of the stuff on the plane was genius - Gwen was hysterically funny (and typically Welsh) in her attitude to it all.

Was very satisfying when Rex snapped the neck of whatsherface from Dollhouse.

I'm also happy to say they lowered the douche baggery of Rex significantly in ep 2, and we got a subtle mention of Jack being away (but no mention of Alonso!)

Does Wayne Knight ever not play a tool?

I wasn't too impressed, the whole plane part was just stupid Shocked  Why try and kill him in the air, all it did was warn Gwen and Rex that something was up.  The antidote was just ridiculous, we've strayed into fantasy world here if arbitrarily slinging those ingredients together would ever work, or have such a quick effect.  Plus, Jack dies all the time so I don't see that we've established his mortality here.  He dies, and then comes back to life because he is a fixed point in time, or has that lore been completely retconned for MD?? lol

I'm finding it hard to keep my interest going for the season so far, but I'm hoping Espenson's episode next week will change that.

You mean like the way 10 counteracted being poisoned in The Unicorn & the Wasp? Evil

i get what you mean though, some scenes it's like they can't decide if they want to be 24 or not.

Haven't seen that episode since it aired, probably for this very reason Grin

I've given it a five. I thought it was much better than last weeks episode. Much more suspense and intrigue and the pacing was much better I thought. Now that the story is unfolding more I'm finding myself more excited to see it play out

Can't quite put my finger on why, but I didn't enjoy this episode as much as last week's - at least that's my gut reaction. Don't get me wrong, it's still good, but it just lacked something for me this week. Might just be the mood I'm in today though - wouldn't be the first time! Time will tell I guess  Smiley

I loved this - at last, we have a bit of plot and some action. I was deeply sceptical about this whole venture and I have just had that scepticism thoroughly extinguished. Just loved it. And having watched episode one immediately prior to it, I am totally onboard with TW in a way that I haven't been before.

I went with a 4. I thought it was a really good episode with a lot more going on and some great development with the story. I think the characters all seemed more well rounded too which was good. Wasn't so keen on the fact that most of the story took place on the plane though as it felt a bit over stretched.

I went with a 4 again.  I'm still not 100% convinced, as I was by the end of the first episode of CoE, but I'm enjoying the intrigue and mystery.  I agree the antidote was slightly absurd (Jack doesn't have alien physiology like the Doctor) but that scene did culminate in Gwen's wonderful confrontation with wossername.

One thing I will add is that with COE it was 'bam' right in there with the story and adventure, wheras this is very slow burning. So far in 2 hours of broadcast we know that people aren't dying, but when you think about it, nothing else really has happened. Its still been really good, but I want to get on to the good stuff now

I went with a 5. The content of the episode was really good and there were some great funny and gripping scenes, however as Roranicus says, in terms of the overall story I don't really feel as though we have moved along. Everything from the first two episodes really could have been condensed down to one.

I went with a 3. I really enjoyed it and it probably deserves higher, but as others have said I found it annoying that now after two episodes hardly anything had happened.

Yea that's my main drawback for the series so far. I just think that a lot of what has happened in the last two episodes could probably have been condensed down to one to help the story move along quicker
