The best of the specials by a country mile. Brilliantly written cast of characters acting brilliantly in a brilliantly written script. It was suspensful, atmospheric and moved along and a brilliant pace. It was great to see the rewriting of history, or at least the attempts at it and I loved how Adelaides story tied in with The Stolen Earth/Journey's End. Making water the enemy was also a brilliant plot device.
The downside for me though was all the Time Lord Victorious stuff. It was all so out of character, and yes I know it was meant to be, but it didnt develop. It just happened out of nowhere and felt really forced. I also thought it made Ten look like a bit of a dick. They could have kept the entire dialogue but played it without the angry cockiness and I think it would have worked better. Tennant had a way of playing angry and charming at the same time and I think that would have been a better angle to take, but that's just my opinion.

Just bought myself the Complete Specials boxset the other day, and watched this again last night. Only the third time I've watched it now... Was never too sure about it when I first saw it, but sitting down to watch it last night I actually kinda enjoyed it.
I agree with Aneurin though about the whole 'Time Lord victorious' stuff.... was a bit stupid! But hey. I guess it's still a good episode

I gave this full marks. It nearly lost a point for all the Time Lord Victorious rubbish, but otherwise a brilliant story with a superb cast.

Another one giving full marks here. This story was amazing and at times terrifying. It had a brilliant classic 'space base' feel to it and turning water into this evil enemy was brilliant. The only downside for me was that we didn't get an Ice Warrior or two thrown into the mix
