With two tournaments coming to an end on the forum this week, it is time to get another one off the ground. This time around it is the turn of the companions.

There is often debate about who and what constitutes a companion, so for this battle we have gone with those listed as companions on the BBC website, but just for good measure we threw in Yates and Benton to make sure all bases are covered.

Anyhoo

The bracket is below. If you like to be surprised each day then do not look at this:

BRACKET

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the rules.

- Please put votes in BOLD so they are easier to count
- If you would like to change your vote, make a new post announcing your change. Do not edit your original post.
- Vote changes will not be allowed after Round 2.
- Iceman put this rule in effect because it will add another difficult dimension and that keeps people from flip flopping too much. So get all your vote changing out in the first 2 rounds.
- In the event of a tie, a 1 hour extension will be given and someone who has not voted already will vote. Only the first vote within that hour time period counts. If 2 or more people vote, all the votes but the first one will be null and void. If no one votes within the hour then I will flip a coin.

If you have questions please pm me with them. I hope you enjoy this tournament! The winners of each round will be included in this post with links to each daily match and the first match will be in the post below.

Fully expecting the Brig to win this round, but I can't vote for what I haven't as yet seen. So Turlough for me.

Hmmm. I love the Brig, but as 'companions' go, I am not sure if I would rate him over Turlough (or many of the others, actually) because I don't really see him as a whizzing through space on adventures type companion. I am going to go with Turlough

I'm going to go with Turlough, because as much as I love the Brig I don't really see him as a 'companion'

Round 1
Battle 02:
Adric v Adelaide Brooke

Adric

Quote
Adric, a teenage boy with a gift - and badge - for mathematical excellence, was a member of a street gang on the planet Alzarius, along with his brother, Varsh. Adric, alone and hungry for adventure, stowed away in the TARDIS after Varsh sacrificed his life to save the Doctor and his friends. Often frustrated by his clumsiness, and fiercely competitive, Adric struggled to find a useful role among the TARDIS crew. He ultimately gave up his life by remaining on board a spaceship that crashed into prehistoric Earth, causing the death of the dinosaurs.

First Appearance: Full Circle
Latest Appearance: The Caves of Androzani

Character Bio: http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Adric

VS.

Adelaide Brooke

First Appearance: The Waters of Mars
Latest Appearance: The Waters of Mars

Adric. He wasn't great, but he can't lose to a one off companion

ADRIC Though whether he gets knocked out now or in R2 means my cries in the wilderness will be largely academic.
