When Tigilinus is chasing Nero around trying to put his olive garland on, you can see a mic fall into shot

Historical inaccuracies:

Why was the villa empty?  Even if the master was away, his family would probably be at home, and there'd be a compliment of slaves keeping the place running.

Gladiators weren't just random slaves thrown into the arena - they were highly trained, and actually quite well treated (for slaves).  Also, during the fight, Ian should have had a trident to go with the net, not a sword.

The fact that Nero was taken by a slave woman would hardly have been a threat to Poppaea's position as empress.  Then again, maybe on a family show they couldn't acknowledge that he wanted to do anything other than marry her Cool

The cross wasn't used as a Christian symbol till some time later - it would have been some kind of fish motif at that time.  Then again, they needed something instantly recognisable, so that's understandable.

The banquet was all wrong, but the director explained on the extras why he'd been forced into that.

Nero is very obviously not playing the Lyre. I wasn't sure at first if it was meant to look as fake as it does as part of the humour, but I am going to call it a blooper all the same

Nero died when he was 31, so the age of the actor is way out.

After the gladiator fight scene, after Nero kicks the guards body off the stage his tunic rides up and you can see his bum

One that I didn't notice, but just came across the fact by accident, was that Nero outlawed beheading 5 years before this serial took place, so wouldnt have sent Ian off to get his head lopped off for being defeated in the arena

The dining scene is probably the most glaringly obvious of the lot. They never would have sat around tables

In the early villa scenes, there are shadows on the wall of people who are not in the shot
