This is the thread for discussion of the overnight ratings, the official ratings, audience share, AI, iPlayer hits and anything else to do with ratings for this episode.

The initial ratings, share and AI will be from the UK, though these may be expanded upon later to take into account figures from elsewhere in the world such as the US and Australia.

If you want to see how this episode rates in comparison to previous series, then you can find that information HERE (add link). Please feel free to discuss the ratings and share your thoughts on how well this episode is doing. For ratings relating to other episodes, please check the relevent threads.

If you need any help understanding how the ratings and AI is calculated, then feel free to ask and either a moderator or fellow member will advise you.

We had a strong opener. 6.2m on the overnights and second for the evening. It has a share of 28.7% also. The only show higher was X Factor which got 10m, but the gap will close considerably when officials are in, especially as this series of DW is timeshifting in the 2m ranges. I'd be very surprised if we got lower than 8m

Just to add, the audience for Family Fortunes, which was the direct competition was up by nearly 2m which may have taken some viewers away. It ended with an average of 5.4 which is oddly high for that show

That seems like a good figure to me, and as you say it will go up considerably on timeshift. Its up on AGMGW too, is it not?

These seem like reasonably good figures and I think the Moff will be a happy show runner when the time shifts are in.

Yea I think its a great figure. It was never going to beat X Factor, but second for the night, and therefore highest rated show on the BBC for the day, is excellent

AI of 85. It's a good and bad score. 85 is considered excellent, but in terms of the series it is the joint lowest we have seen this year (alongside The Rebel Flesh)

Its a shame the AI is low. I mean, it isn't low obviously, but in comparison to some other stories I think it deserved something higher

I would have expected a higher AI, but I think the rating is pretty good

Not really ratings as such, but SFX are reporting that Let's Kill Hitler topped the iplayer chart for August - even though it was only available for 4 days  Cheesy

That doesn't surprise me. Admittedly I don't watch a lot of TV, but I didn't see much in the way of promotion so I expected that once people realise it was back then the iPlayer hits would go up

I actually did see the ad on TV a lot & I don't watch the BBC all that much - must have just tuned in at the right times  Smiley

Here are the charts for this story. I have dropped the share charts because we only have some official numbers and some overnights numbers and I don't want to mix them up, so we just have Officials, overnights and AI charts for now. As always, if you need me to explain how they work just ask Smiley
