This is the thread for discussion of the overnight ratings, the official ratings, audience share, AI, iPlayer hits and anything else to do with ratings for this episode.

The initial ratings, share and AI will be from the UK, though these may be expanded upon later to take into account figures from elsewhere in the world such as the US and Australia.

If you want to see how this episode rates in comparison to previous series, then you can find that information in this section. Please feel free to discuss the ratings and share your thoughts on how well this episode is doing. For ratings relating to other episodes, please check the relevent threads.

If you need any help understanding how the ratings and AI is calculated, then feel free to ask and either a moderator or fellow member will advise you.

Good overnights. I expected early 5s, so that's a nice thing to see. I'd imagine it will get a nice boost. I thought it might even have had a bit of a nudge down by Merlin, but I am guessing that didn't get such a good overnight.

Shame about the AI. Very consistent with the season but one of the lowest for a finale and I think it deserved better.

Merlin got 5.2million on overnights I believe.

I assume that's good for that show. I'm sill working through series 2 and don't follow it's ratings or anything.

I've got no idea either really - never looked at them before. Just looked at it's final ratings for previous series & provided it gets a good timeshift it is consistent I think. I only saw the overnights this time because they were in the same article as the DW ones.

6.1 overnights is good. I'd like to hope it can hit 8 with timeshifting. It would definately be a good sendoff

Yeah it would. I think it should be able to get pretty close to that on time shift so fingers crossed  Smiley

I'm amazed how consistant the viewing figures have been for this season. Despite the tabloid attempts to kill off our show, the figures have been very strong.

I really do believe that the show needs a consistent time slot though. In an ideal world it will be 7pm but I don't care too much as long as its a fixed point in time. The hard core fans of the show (of which we most definitely would qualify) will have the Sky Plus/DVR set but the casual viewer may not and that is who Moff has to attract.

Final rating of 7.67m.

I'll sort the charts this evening to see where the series stands.

It's a shame it didn't quite hit 8 but it's still a great figure overall.

To be honest I am surprised it wasn't a bit higher considering it was a finale, but its still a decent figure. I thought the AI would be higher too, but 86 seems to be standard this year.
