I have seen 4 versions of the Master now. Simm and Jocobi in NuWho, Delgado and the one from The King's Demons. Ainley, is it?

Of all of those, Delgado for me is by far the best incarnation and so wonderfully played by Roger Delgado. I always figured, like other actors he just moved on to other things, which is why we got a new Master, but I found out a while back that he died, which is really sad.

I've not seen him in many stories, but he has been brilliant throughout and I here he is in a lot of Third Doctor stories, so I can't wait to get stuck in to them

For me, Delgado is the Master - no disrespect to Anthony Ainley, who I thought made an excellent job of taking over, but this was the original and the best.  This was his last story in the part, and at least it was a great last bow.

Definately. What a great story to go out on. Delgado is my favourite Master too, and while other have been good, none have ever managed to live up to him in the role

Definately my favourite version of the Master and it is a shame his time was cut short, but at least he went out on a high. He was brilliant at playing the part and has never been matched yet (and I would be happy for them to stop trying, tbh)

I think what I like most about Delgado as the Master is that he had this air of menace around him, but at the same time seemed perfectly charming and he had buckets of charisma. No other actor has ever quite managed it. They usually go for one or the other, but Delgado had a perfect balance. I think Jacobi is probably the closest we have ever come to that again. When you compare him to someone like Simm in the role, who basically just went for manic, you can really see how subtle, but brilliant Delgado was

Absolutely excellent. The best incarnation of the Master I have seen yet

Though saying that ^^, Ainley is also brilliant in the role.

I always thought Ainley was good, but by the time he came along they were mostly just rolling the Master out for any old story and he had to deal with a lot of not so great scripts. He always put in a good performance though
