In the 80's, on the "Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV" series, there was a Doctor Who parody sketch (which coined the phrase 'Ming-Mongs', often used to describe Whovians).

A clip of the sketch can be seen here:  [YouTube Link]
An interview of RTD and Benjamin Cook, regarding Ming-Mongs is here: [Unreality SF Link]

My question is, does anyone know which series/episode this clip is taken from?  I'd like to watch the whole sketch, but don't want to pay for the series 2 DVD if it's in series 1, and would love to narrow it down to one episode.

Thanks in advance...

Nobody?  Huh?

I can't believe that no-one here, at the fountain of Who-knowledge, knows the answer to this...   Shocked

It doesn't sound familiar to me. Not sure I ever even saw it. Look on YouTube and in the video info it might say where it came from. Failing that perhaps wiki could help you

I think I found it...

For any interested people, it appears to be in the Series 2 Christmas Special (7th episode of the series), broadcast in December 1987. At least, according to IMDB, this is the only episode that has Jim Broadbent listed as playing 'The Doctor'.

While searching, I also found a load more Doctor Who comedy sketches, and posted the link [HERE] in the 'Random Doctor Who Fun Stuff' thread.
