The Autons are one of my all time favourite baddies and I think they were never scarier or more eerie than they were in this story. As Doctor Who does a lot, it took something so audinary and mundane that we see in every day life and turned them into scary killing machines and it was excellent. I was so glad that they came back (now a couple of times) in the new series. I would much rather watch the Autons to the Daleks any day.

I'm loving these Autons.... maybe not as much as in Rose, but they still give me the creeps soooo much. As odd as it sounds, sometimes when I walk past a shop I think 'Auton' but they're amazingly done 'aliens' who seem so normal, yet they're not.

I wouldn't personally put them above the Daleks, but they're certainly one of the classics.  Like the original version of the Weeping Angels (not so much when they were brought back) so much of their power comes from the feeling that they might well really be just behind you.

I love the Autons, both in the classics and the new series. They don't strike me as the most dangerous of threats, but there is still something really creepy about them

I love the Autons. They are one of my favourite villains. I don't think its really fair to compare them against other baddies, but on their own merit I think they are great. As already said, the fact that they are otherwise ordinary, everyday things is what gives them that extra creepiness factor for me.

I think one of the things that is great about them is that they are one of the few good examples of a villain that has evolved. From shop window dummies, to waxwork things, to basically looking exactly human. Then in the new series we also had them programmed to not even know they were plactic.

On the other hand though we did have that awful 'so obvious but Rose must be blind' Mickey from 'Rose'. Not sure what that was all about

I love the Autons. I think they are perhaps my favourite of all, or at least way up there and I am glad they have had a return in the new series since Rose as I don't think they were used at their best there

Love the Autons. Not as good as the Daleks obviously, but after the Daleks and Cybermen, they are right up there for me
