Totally owned the episode tonight. She played just about every emotion there is and did every one of them brilliantly. I have always liked the character, but this episode totally just upped that. I loved how much of her back story we got in such a short amount of time and it's made me even more eager to see more of her. Brilliant!

Alex Kingston always brings it. I can't think of a single time where she has been less than excellent. I did love the River stuff here though. So much was covered in such a short space, but I do still hope we get to see more of it

My love for both is well known, and she was on total form again tonight. This actually might be one of my favourite appearances so far. I always want to see more of her, but something in this made me think that we will be seeing less of her now. I really hope not though. She needs to be like the Brig and just keep coming back for years.

She made a comment in an interview a little while back about working with the next Doctor which implied that she would be around at least until the next Doctor rolls up

She is always fab. Say what you like about the character, and most do, but you can't fault AK's portrayal. She takes whats on the page and puts in an excellent performance every time

River Song is (or at least was) trending worldwide.

Just to add, Matt Smith, Let's Kill Hitler, River Song and Alex Kingston all were trending in the UK too

She is always brilliant I think and tonight was no different. The more she is in it, and the longer she is in it, the better

I can't really add anything to whats already been said other than to say that she did once again put in an excellent performance and the more I see of her, the more I want her to stick around

Bags of personality, 100% commitment and a large dollop of camp - an almost perfect Doctor Who guest star performance. Smiley

I disagree with the slating of AK, but I somewhat agree with this:

"But the way this storyline has taken over is a serious misjudgment by Moffat.

It all became too convoluted on Saturday night"

I was reading that article in another thread earlier. What a jerk. Nothing constructive at all, just an obvious dislike for an actress whom he then tried accusing of ruining the show. And who are the six incarnations of River that he mentions? Have I missed something there?

Um... the bump, the baby, the Child, Mels, River... and that's still only five at a ridiculous stretch.

There will always be haters, and that journo very obviously has a personal dislike for the actress and tried to impress it upon the readers, but anyone with their own mind can see that despite their feelings of the character, Alex Kingston is always awesome

I agree. That guy obviously has some sort of dislike for the actress and not just the character. That aside though, I still disagree with pretty much everything he says in the article
