I am.

It has all the potential to be a belter. A good old scary Doctor Who tale with a some good villains and a great creepy atmosphere. Unfortunately though I have so little faith in Gatiss (who imo hasn't done anything worthwhile on the show since 2005) that I just have this feeling that it is going to be bad. I thought Victory would be awesome. World War II, Churchill, Camo Daleks etc. Everything we knew before made it seem like it could be nothing other than awesome, but he ballsed it up nonetheless. I really, really want this to be brilliant because it really looks like it could be. But I am not holding out hope.

Also, harsh as it may be, if this does actually turn out to be a flop then I think it is seriously time to question his association with writing on the show. I know he and Moff are friends and up to now I can see that as the only reason why he keeps getting the gig.

I'm not worried to the extent where I am already assuming it is going to be rubbish, because I do think and hope it will be great, but I totally understand where you are coming from and I am a bit concerned that he might not get it right. I also believe that he only keeps getting to write stories based on his friendship with Moff and not on the quality of his scripts.

Well The Unquiet Dead was a good episode, but his others havent been and the one he was actually in was awful so I don't expect it to be great, but I do hope it is because what I know of it so far looks great

He is also vain, ego-centric and quite mad

I think this is going to be a cracker of a tale. Gattis is very good as a horror writer, he understands the structure of old fashioned horror and I am fully expecting this to be a blast. It will be nice to have an old fashioned, stand alone, non-arc dependent episode. Gattis is very much a marmite type of writer. It just so happens, I rather like him, and I certainly liked the Unquiet Dead and yes, even VOTD.
