I love the Silurians, but in this story they just aren't good at all. One of the things that I always liked about them is that they were multi-layered. A point has always been made to show that not all of them are bad or good and that they are are more similar to humans than either race would care to realise, but in this story, for no reason at all (that I cant think of anyway) they were just on full on attack. We had no reason to sympathise or empathise with them. They really missed a trick with this story I feel

I love the Silurians (not as keen on the Sea Devils though) but I think they were used quite badly here. They didn't look very good for starters and the writers didn't seem to capture what they were all about in this story, instead turning them into standard villians, which isn't how they should be written in my opinion. I dont totally dislike this story, but I think it is perhaps their worst outing

They were very poorly realised in this story I think. Everything from the costumes down to the plot was all wrong. I think it wouldn't have been so bad if they hadn't already given them such a back story in the past, but they were brought in here and the majority of what we had already been told about them was then ignored.

I agree. I love them in the two original stories and in the NuWho version, but there was no complexity here. One of the things that almost always comes into Silurian stories is disagreement about how to react to humans, or at least the leaders changing their minds, but there's none of that here. Even though the Doctor inaccurately claims that all they ever wanted was to live in peace (some do, some don't) these were almost Dalek-like in their determination to wipe out humanity.

I love what I have seen of the Silurians in the new series so was really looking forward to this story but it felt like a bit of a let down. Perhaps my expectations were a bit high, but I didn't like how they were written here at all

Don't let it put you off - when you get to watch the original story, you shouldn't be disappointed, as well as The Sea Devils.

I wasn't particularly a fan of their makeover here and I think the writers could have done a far better job of making their characters more realistic based on wha we already knew of them

I think the Silurians will never have a story as great as their first, and this was a bit of a poor follow up for them. They also looked a bit silly and their motives were very OOC. Still though, they were one of the better parts of the story I thought

They were rubbish here I agree, but I have see The Silurians and I know they are great there so I don't feel too bothered about them having an 'off' story
