I totally missed this the first (well, only) time I watched - by the end I really wasn't paying much attention any more.  Apparently there was a song/rhyme being sung by children (the dolls?) that sure looks to be about the Doctor's and River's relationship.

Tick tock goes the clock
And what now shall we play?
Tick tock goes the clock
Now summer’s gone away?

Tick tock goes the clock
And what then shall we see?
Tick tock until the day
That thou shalt marry me

Tick tock goes the clock
And all the years they fly
Tick tock and all too soon
You and I must die

Tick tock goes the clock
We laughed at fate and mourned her
Tick tock goes the clock
Even for the Doctor

Tick tock goes the clock
He cradled her and he rocked her
Tick tock goes the clock
Even for the Doctor…

Interesting, to say the least...  was the Doctor supposed to be hearing this, or was this just for the audience?

I only heard the last verse right at the end, but it seemed to me to be a voiceover rather than something the characters would hear, so I think it was more for the audience' benefit

Yea I just figured it was meant as a voiceover rather than something the Doctor could hear at the end, but I think they were singing it earlier on in the episode too, so if the Doctor was around then perhaps he could hear it?

That's what I was wondering; I couldn't make out what they were singing earlier on in the episode.

I was listening out for this on the rewatch and they definately chant it earlier, but it doesn't seem obvious whether it is overdubbed or meant to be the dolls actually singing it within the episode. It's also not very clear what they are saying and I don't think they said it with the Doctor in earshot

I didn't hear all the words, but I thought it sounded cool. It seems to me that it was just something that the audience hears and tries to make something out of, that is really nothing, like Abigail's(was that her name) song talking about Silence in the Christmas special.
