Was it just me, or would this story have fitted the Ninth Doctor really well. It had an early NuWho feel to it, a bit Satellite Five-ish. Even the music sounded like the stuff from his era.

I was thinking that when watching. When Amy was by the vent thingy, the music sounded a lot like the Ninth Doctors theme

He is also vain, ego-centric and quite mad

It absolutely would have worked with 9th Mickey and Rose. It was so well written and i think really highlighted how versatile and gifted Matt Smith is. To go from quirky and loose limbed to serious and deceptive shows what a talent he is. But I digress - and completely echo the OP - this would have suited CE down to the ground Smiley

I think the CE could have played it brilliantly, but I don't know if it would have really fit in series 1 because he was still in his 'angry' phase. I definately can see the links though and I agree about the similar sounding music. Perhaps MG just reworked an old score

I don't see it myself. I think perhaps later Ten would have worked, but I don't know about Nine. I get the Satellite Five reference though. Can't say I noticed the music but will listen out when I next watch

I did notice the Eleventh Doctor's theme a couple of times.  For some reason the music these past 2 seasons has really caught my attention.  Usually I don't even notice the background music.

Funny, because I thought 9 would have been excellent in Night Terrors.

I  can totally see 9 working, but not Mickey/Rose. Maybe that's just cause I feel like they don't have anywhere near the chemistry/true love to pull this kind of story off.
