I just saw a thread for Amy, but I think Rory deserves some loving too. He was great throughout, and that scene with older Amy when he was talking to her through the TARDIS doors has been the highlight of the characters run for me. He acted his socks off, as he always does, but that was just something else. Really excellent there. Both of them.

I agree. I find Rory quite hit and miss in general, but I really liked him in this episode, and the stuff where he was angry with the Doctor was a particular highlight

This how Rory should be used, rather than dying all the time.

Well I did half expect him to die at some point, if I am honest. It's sort of got to the point where I am waiting for it every week though. He got knocked out which is close I guess

I always think Rory is brilliant, but he had me in floods when he was crying up against the TARDIS doors. Such a brilliant scene

This is how I feel, also. He was great in this episode, but this series I havent been as keen on his character

I too have found Rory to be a bit hit an miss this series, but he was back on fine form in this episode, particularly in the later scenes of the episode.
In every episode he seems to be getting a little bit more wound up with the Doctor and I think perhaps a bit more frustrated with the travelling. I can't be sure, but I think these little things are being put in as a way to eventually write the characters out at the end of the series.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Rory has never seemed like he actually wants to be there, just that he wants to be with Amy and she wants to be there. When they leave I am sure it will be down to him putting his foot down and saying it's time to stop

I think Rory is always great, but the one thing that gets me is that whenever he does angry, his scene with the Cybermen is a good example, I just don't buy it. I don't know if it is the acting, or just because its OOC, but it always just seems like fake bravado and not real genuine nasty anger. He just seems too soft and a bit whimpish to pull it off properly

Yea that is my issue with the character too. Arthur Darvil, for me, just can't pull off the macho angry stuff. At all other times I think he is great, but scenes like this, specifically in the Cyberman scene that TC mentioned, I just find it cringeworthy
