As much as I love Amelia, and any chance to see her is a good thing, I think this would have been a great opportunity to show something relating to Melody.
I know, more baby stuff, but this was another wasted chance and it bugs me

Well they showed a bit more interest this week so you can't moan too much. Amy did ask for the Doctor to tell her to pop in for a coffee. I mean, how much concern does a parent need? Melody will be paying a visit to Jeremy Kyle somewhere along the line, I can just see it now!

The fact her room was little Amelia gives me a slim hope that they will address this uncaring attitude in the finale - otherwise it's pretty irresponsible.

They really, really need to address the whole baby thing with an excellent reason in the finale because they just seem to not care at all. Its very bad characterisation.
As for her room, aside from the baby thing I think it was actually quite fitting to have Amelia sitting there waiting for the Doctor, as that was such a brilliant scene from The Eleventh Hour.

Personally I think the baby thing is really quite annoying. Its been weeks since she even got a mention and Amy's throwaway comment about telling her to pop in made it even worse. It really doesn't seem like they care. I don't understand how two people can be so accepting of the fact their baby has been taken and I think if it is something that is going to play heavily in the finale, then it is going to seem questionable if they all of a sudden start caring, and so by the same token, why should the audience care or believe in what is going on?
As for what was in Amy's room, I agree with PP. I think it made sense if the whole baby thing is taken out of the picture

Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and The Doctor comes to call, everybody lives.

Possibly she saw a member of the Doctor Who production team who didn't tell her she is the most beautiful creature alive?

Agreed. I'm child-free myself, but I know lots of mums, and no way would any normal parent be reacting the way the Ponds have reacted to the loss of their child, timey-wimey stuff with Mels and adult River notwithstanding. They'd be moving hell and high water to get that baby back in their arms, and the fact that they haven't been, is deeply suspicious. It's either very poor writing from the Moff (who, don't forget, is a dad himself), or it's intentional and will be dealt with at some point...it's just that there's not long to go.
(Do we have a thread anywhere for remaining questions from series 6, or even series 5, that have yet to be answered? I'm off to look...)

The baby thing has been my biggest peeve about this series so far. It's just such a huge oversight and I will be so annoyed if it isn't addressed properly in the finale

The stuff with the baby I just find so annoying. As parents it just makes them both seem so uncaring and as for the writers, unless they pull something amazing out of the bag in the last episode, it just seems like terrible writing.
