"The image of an Angel becomes itself an Angel" Or some quote to that effect. So why is it that the Doctor could touch the Angel without anything happening and just pass it off as not real? Riddle me that?

Ah good point. Big inconsistency there. Though it would probably be argued that it was computer generated so wouldn't count, but the point should still stand, regardless

Good thinking. It's definately an oversight I would say. If they weren't real, and in turns the stuff from everyones dreams weren't real, then why did any of them bother getting scared about anything in the hotel?

Maybe things are only real to the person they're meant for.
I suspect, as Roranicus said, there's a difference between a direct image and a CG simulation. It would have been good if that had been raised, though.

This was my initial thought too, but I think it is an oversight more than anything else. It didn't seem to me that the rule depended on what kind of image it was, it just had to be an image, which is what this was. It worked on a video recording so no reason why it wouldn't on a computer

Their appearance sort of annoyed me if I am honest. They were blatently shoehorned in for the sake of it. If they had been Amy's fear it would have been cool because she seemed more scared in that room than in her own, but to have them as Gibbis' fear was pointless. There was no connection there at all to make it seem realistic. Seems like every week he has some new race coming and invading his home, yet he is scared of the Angels (who he had never even mentioned had invaded). Pointless

I agree with TC. I think using them for the sake of using them is going to make their appearances less of an event when they happen

Perhaps it was a loophole and they were only real for the person whose nightmare it was? So the image of an Angel does become one, but because of the reasoning behind it the majority of the group would be unharmed? Or something?
