We had a similar thread before, so here is it's sequel.
I sort of found a it a bit lame that we had this type of ending again. I sort of expected it to be honest, but I still wish it could have been different. There are a million ways to end a story so I don't understand why they keep falling back on this type of ending.

I agree. It didn't spoil the episode for me but I do think there is too much of a heavy reliance on this type of ending lately

I'm generally not one for happy slushy endings regardless of what show it is in, but they do seem to rely on it a fair bit these last two years. Maybe I am noticing it more though because it keeps being pointed out. I don't know.

I think it would work fine if you're just taking this episode on its own, but it's getting to be a regular feature.

Exactly. It does suit the stories its happening in, but then collectively it seems a bit like overkill

I don't think the Cybermen will ever live down the shame of having their collective @sses kicked by James Corden's getting emotional over a baby crying.

Its too much now. They need to start doing other types of endings because all this love is the answer stuff is getting tired.

I happen to quite like these 'love conquers all' endings! I must be soppy! I'm not bored of them though

While I agree that the endings suit the episode and within the confines of the story work fine, looking at the larger picture I think they definately use it too often. It's much more interesting when the day isn't always saved or not everyone lives happily ever after etc.

I think they definately need to pull something else out of the bag. Three of the last four stories have had this type of ending. Thats a very high percentage

The more I think on it the more I think that perhaps these ending are being put in place to lighten the series up. Moff is always talking about making it darker and more scary but what's better for children than a happy ever after? I'd much prefer to have an ending that isn't so slushy and a bit more gritty, but maybe this is his way of making the series more ranged. Darker, more adult themed stories that the grown ups enjoy and the kids get a bit scared by with a happy ending that reassures the kiddies but doesn't patronise the adults. I'm not saying it's right, but maybe that's the intention?

Urgh! These endings annoy me a lot. I wouldn't mind if it was one or at a push two episode a season, but its about 7 or 8 these days. That's way too much!

I'm not sure if maybe they were taking the mickey out of it in this episode. Craig saying 'I saved the day, with love' surely isn't meant to be taken seriously. It's waaaaaaaay to cheesy. He even looks embarrassed to say it

Na, I don't think so. He was probably just cringing at having to say it. It didn't seem particularly tongue in cheek to me

I'm with the majority here. Do away with them, or at the very least cut them right down, and give us some more interesting and thought provoking endings.
