Has anyone noticed that there is a lot of focus this year on the relationships between fathers and their sons. We had Avery and his son, the gangers and their join son, the father and son from Night Terrors and now Craig and Alfie. All had somewhat strained relationships that the Doctor came in and fixed. Not sure if it actually means anything but I thought it might be worth mentioning. Might mean something?

I was thinking about that last night and yeah I think there could be something in it and I half expected the Doctor to go off and find River at the end of the episode!

You know I hadn't clicked to this, but now you mention it it does seem like there might be something worth looking into. I can't imagine how it would fit into the larger story, but it does seem a bit too frequent to mean nothing

I hadn't really picked up on that either. Interesting how many episodes have such a strong focus on good parenting and yet the companions show such a lack of it.

Someone had to mention it Tongue

Exactly. It only goes to highlight the poor writing surrounding Amy/Rory and their kidnapped child that they seem to not care very much about.

I hate how neglectful of that whole plot they have been. I'm keeping calm and hoping that something will come of it in the finale, but if it's just left I will be quite disapointed.

They have to make a deal of it in the finale surely. If they don't at least mention in passing why they don't seem to care I will be very surprised. Its a bit late for them to start playing the concerned parents now, but surely there must be a reason behind why they are being so calm about it all.

This was my hope too. And my biggest dissapointment for the episode when it turned out that they actually just aren't that bothered.
