At the very end of the story there is a set up for the following story, Marco Polo. I have only ever heard the recon of that story once (and perhaps this entire thread belongs to a Marco Polo discussion if that ever comes along) but they said something about a footprint made by a giant which I don't ever remember being addressed in that story. Is it something that was cut maybe? Or was it just never brought up again? Or did I just miss/forget it? Anyone know?

I can't remember whether it's addressed.  They're supposed to be up in the Himalayas, and I've a feeling it's supposed to be a Yeti (not a robot one, presumably).  It may well be one of those cliffhangers that looked better at the time than in retrospect.

I think the Yeti idea is what they were shooting for, but in the actual first episode of Marco Polo (The Roof of the World), they mention something about it being a regualr man's footprint that the sun melted around the edges to make it larger.   So...

I remember reading a long while back that they had originally intended to include Yeti here but didn't have any costumes ready in time and so did a quick rewrite. I can't remember where I read it and it may have been speculation rather than fact, but I thought I would share it all the same.

I think it was probably meant to be Yeti but I think it was a good thing that they ended up scrapping whatever it was meant to be because Marco Polo was fine as it was.
