Nicholas Courtney said that this was his favourite story to make, specifically playing the baddie version of the Brigadier.

I don't know if this is actually true, but I heard somewhere that Jon Pertwee was terrified of heights and so the crew had to get him drunk to do the scene on top of the reactor thingy.

I haven't heard this, although I know Tom Baker had a similar problem in Logopolis. It would be surprising, as Pertwee was a bit of an action man - he loved his fast cars, planes and the like. Not impossible, though.

One of the ideas for a title was The Mo Hole Project.

During a chase scene on Parallel Earth, Bessie's bumper gashed open stuntman Alan Chuntz's leg as it passed. The gash was so severe that he had to go to the A+E and Barry Letts stated on the DVD commentary that "It was the worst wound he'd ever seen" and after Pertwee saw the wound and learned he caused it, he became sick and almost couldn't carry on filming until a few hours later. Jon Pertwee even went as far as to buying Chuntz's wife a gift to apologize for the accident.

I'd heard of him not liking heights and having trouble with the scene but I didn't know they had to ply him with drink It's actually quite a funny story.
