Here are the ratings for this story. They are a little different to the classics because they were calculated differently, but the gist of it is the same.

The Overnights - 7.2m
The Officials - 7.9m
Weekly Chart Placing - 13th
Appreciation Index - 84

Interesting to see how small the timeshift was then compared to now. Just goes to show how little the overnights mean.

To be honest I am surprised how big the time shift was for this. It's interesting to see the AI so low as well considering how much everyone likes this story.

Yea I would have thought the AI for this would have been high 80s so I was surprised to see that.

A lot of the AI scores are like that though. Some of the stories deemed 'the best' (The Doctor Dances, Blink etc) have lower or the same AIs than episodes that are generally not so well liked. I don't think the AI is always in line with what average Joe Public thinks, despite being a score given by the public, if that makes sense.

The officials are excellent considering there was no iPlayer and things like that. Or perhaps they are good because of that. I suppose without so many timeshift options more people are forced to watch 'live'.
