Again you can see how tiny the rise is from overnights to officials, though the officials are still on par with todays results even though todays overnights are far lower and usually rise by over a million due to timeshifting.

The timeshifting is so teeny. I've only been watching since S5 aired and the timeshifting for all the new episodes has always been huge. I don't think it's ever been under 1m, so it's wierd to see only a .4 rise.

Though in fairness we don't often hit 7m on the overnights these days

They aren't far of 7m mostly. Some dip, but as you say the timeshift for the lower overnights is always bigger

Yea but the drop on overnights, relevent or not, is happening accross the board and not just to Doctor Who. The time shift however is setting records and nothing is getting close, which should speak volumes. If only the people reporting these things listened.

I've said this before, but compared to figures we get over here, the ones above seem enormous.
In the UK you have on demand for the BBC right? Are those figures included as well or it is just those who watch on TV?

No, the only figures counted are those who watch on the day of broadcast or record to watch within 7 days. The BBC count everything from first week repeats and iPlayer, but they aren't counted as 'official', or figures would be a lot higher.

Perhaps if they released all the information the press would be a little less quick to jump on the show and say it's sinking. TEH for example I read had an 'official' of about 8.5m but with iPlayer and whatnot included it went to over 12m. Significant difference.
