It's not often we get to say how great he was, so this is a good chance to praise CE/9.

There are a couple of duff episodes in this series and this is close to being one too, but one thing I think is true of every single episode is that CE takes the script 100% seriously and puts in an excellent performance every single time. I honestly don't think, in this episode or another, that he was ever less than 'fantastic', as he would say.

Christopher Eccleston was absolutely superb, which just makes the fact he only did one season and seems to never have anything nice to say about his time on the show, even worse. It wouldn't have been so bad if he was only ok, but he was brilliant. At least he left us wanting more though instead of checking our watches to count down to when he is going to bugger off as other Doctors have done in the past.

I thought he was awesome. Took me a while to get past the anger, but by the end of the season I totally got it and I thought it worked well with the character. I preferred him to Ten, but Matt is still my fave Smiley

Its probably wrong of me, but as much as I like Nine I get put off by the attitude of CE to the show and the role. I think he was great as the Doctor but sometimes his comments, or even lack of them, just put me off. Tennant for example isn't my favourite Doctor but I love his enthusiasm for the show and I think that is partly what endeared him to so many fans

I've seen lots of people say similar things which is a shame really. He is great as the Doctor but I can sort of understand why people are put off by his reaction to the show, though he has never, as far as I know, slated the show itself, just that he didn't particularly enjoy working on it, which I think is fair enough.

Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and The Doctor comes to call, everybody lives.

I agree with the Doc. It doesn't really matter how he felt about the show because he never once let it affect his performances. He was always proffessional and always great in the role. The biggest shame is that he seems to have absolutely no desire to return should they do a multi Doctor story for the anniversary.
