If you have a Wii and you have it hooked up to the Internet, then you should check out this weeks Nintendo TV. Return to Earth is being previewed on there giving you the chance to finally see the game in action. I should warn you though, the graphics look kinda awful in actual game play

Actually, I have just found it on Youtube, so you dont even have to turn your Wii on. The DW stuff starts at around 2:48

It looks really bad. Like an old Atari game or something. They could have made far more effort with the graphics

Nintendo have been a lot better over the last few years but this is shocking. I can only assume that they were saving money in the hope of making a huge return. I could have done better artwork on an etch-a-sketch

Its bad, but its not totally awful. And if its a half decent game then it should be worth it

Matt Smith is thrilled with the new 'Doctor Who' video game.

The Time Lord and his assistant Amy Pond - who are played by the 28-year-old actor and actress Karen Gillan in the BBC One sc-fi show respectively - have become pixelated characters in the new Nintendo Wii title 'Doctor Who: Return To Earth'.

Matt and Karen both lent their voices to the adventure and according to the game's writer Oli Smith the actor was very excited to be part of the project.

Oli told BANG Showbiz: "The idea of the game thrilled Matt straight away - but Matt's thrown himself into everything to do with the role as The Doctor.

"I don't think Matt and Karen have had a chance to play the game yet but they're very enthusiastic about it. It was the best day of my life when they came in to do the voice parts."

Oli - who has written a number of 'Doctor Who' novels, comic strips and audio adventures - also revealed it was decided from the beginning that The Daleks and the Cybermen would be the monsters The Doctor would face in the game.

He added: "The Daleks were a must have, you would be foolish to have The Doctor's first Wii game and not have the classic monsters! We had to make sure The Daleks and the Cybermen were really scary and were a real big deal when they arrive in the game."

I think it will do pretty well. Regardless of graphics, the fans are going to want to lap up as much as they can an this is the first proper platform release. I think it will hit their expectations with sales

Bad news guys...

Wii title Doctor Who: Return To Earth has been delayed by one week.

A spokesperson for Deep Silver told Difital Spy that it will now be available on November 19 in the UK instead.

The title was originally scheduled for release alongside The Doctor's handheld outing - DS title Evacuation Earth - which is available in shops now.

The Wii version will feature Cybermen and motion-controlled mini-games involving the Sonic Screwdriver and a Gravity Gun

No reason as to why as far as I can find, though.

Perhaps they just didnt want to take the spotlight away from the DS game or something?

For those of you excited about tomorrow's release, this is from the official Nintendo magazine...

"Playing Return To Earth is a profoundly miserable experience. The story's abysmal, an incoherent, contrived excuse to throw the big villains in.

The script is also bad - odd lines of excruciatingly awkward dialogue sandwiched between tech-babble whose only purpose is to explain the irrelevant, repetitive gameplay."

Or this...

If you're a child, and you're reading this, you deserve better. I'm sorry people my age have slapped you in the face like this. But use the lesson well. Remember the hatred games like this rightfully deserve, and vow that you'll never produce such an execrable turd in your own adult life. Promise me that, and this won't have all been in vain
