We've been picking the bones of season 1, now it's time to choose your favourite of season 2 and tell us why you like it so much

I have gone with The Romans. It's one of my all time favourite classic stories. It has a bit of everything from drama to comedy and a great setting with a great cast, cool sets and some wonderful costumes. Definately my favourite of the season.

The Space Museum. It's sort of largely ignored, with people not really rating it either way, but I love it!

There are several great stories here, but I've gone for The Daleks Invasion of Earth. As good as the first Dalek story and proving they weren't a one-hit-wonder.

The Romans for me. Nice bit of comedy mixed in with a good story. It was nice to see Hartnell play it for laughs after being so serious for so long

It's got to be The Daleks Invasion of Earth. Not so keen on the historical ones where they land somewhere and then just decide to go wandering off, this time separately. So I don't rate The Romans quite as highly as many do, which is not to say I didn't enjoy it. The Space Museum has a brilliant, even mind-boggling premise that the writers then don't seem to know what to do with and decide instead to return to the formula of people running around in corridors. Definitely has its moments. I also really enjoyed The Chase. The Web Planet and Planet of Giants were just daft. Space pressure, anyone?

In The Romans though they didn't just land and wander off. They had been there for a month or more before the main story takes place, and even then The Doctor and Vicki are only out for a walk to the city when he is mistaken for someone else, setting up his story. Barbara and Ian are then kidnapped, setting up theirs. My vote goes to The Dalek Invasion Of Earth. It was one of the earliest stories I remember watching and I far prefer it to their first outing. One of the rare occassions where the 'sequel' is better.

Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and The Doctor comes to call, everybody lives.

I've gone with The Time Meddler. I think it's a great setting and I love The Monk. I could watch that one over and over

For me, the Dalek Invasion of Earth takes some beating as a story (from any era). It is epic and had a really wonderful scope. I thought Hartnell was imperious as the Doctor and the original companions had real depth and purpose. Season 2 was a real strong season but this was a blistering return for the Daleks and (as much as the original story) cemented the Daleks within the cultural DNA of the country.

I pretty much love every story of season 2, even the Web Planet for all it's faults, but the Romans is one of my all time favourite stories and is definately the best of the bunch in my opinion.

Me too. And, as I've said before, I think The Web Planet gets a raw deal for using effects that look very dated now. It was great at the time.

I've not seen all the stories on the list but I love the ones I have watched so it was hard to choose. In the end though I went with The Time Meddler because I think that's the one I have watched the most out of all of them.

The Romans. But I always love that scene in The Space Museum where Hartnell pops out of a Dalek.

Today, the Kaled race is ended, consumed in a fire of war. But, from its ashes will rise a new race. The supreme creature. The ultimate conqueror of the universe. The Dalek!

I have voted for The Time Meddler. I think it's a great story and The Monk is an excellent character (who should return in the new series)
