Now and then, every once in a very long while, every day in a million days, when the wind stands fair and The Doctor comes to call, everybody lives.

This is reportedly the last Doctor Who story watched by Patrick Troughton before he died, after he requested a showing of it at his birthday party three days before he died.

It was meant to be 6 episodes long. Does that count? Not particularly random lol

That's a really nice one, if not a little sad

The author, "Norman Ashby", was actually Mervyn Haisman and Henry Lincoln, who'd previously written both the Yeti stories.  They obviously didn't want to attach their names to the result.

Also, the story marks the first use of the sonic screwdriver's additional features (it was used purely as a screwdriver in Fury From the Deep)

Following on from the first point, Henry Lincoln was later one of the three authors of The Holy Blood & the Holy Grail, which was the main inspiration for The Da Vinci Code.
