The 5th season of Doctor Who began on 2 September 1967 with The Tomb of the Cybermen and ended on 1 June 1968 with The Wheel in Space. Of the seven serials, only one remains in it's entirety. Of the remaining 36 episodes, only 8 survive.

Tell us which of these stories is your favourite and why.

Tomb Of The Cybermen is one of my favourite classics and so that get's my vote. I am so grateful it survives because it really is an excellent story. Second choice would have been The Wheel In Space.

Got to be Tomb of the Cybermen. One of the all time greats. Give a nod to Fury from the Deep for featuring the first appearance of the sonic screwdriver, when the Doc uses it to, er, unscrew something.

I was tempted to go for Tomb of the Cybermen, and I suspect that'll win, but I voted for The Web of Fear.  Based on vague memories and the reconstructions, it's an awesome lost stories, and a memorable introduction to a certain Colonel Lethbridge Stewart.  It's a very strong series overall.

It was between Tomb and Wheel for me, but Tomb won out.

Tomb of the Cybermen is the only one I have seen, so that get's my vote. Always wanted to see/listen to The Wheel In space and Fury From The Deep though

What an amazing, high quality season this was. I could have literally picked any of them (although I only know the majority from audio reconstructions) but I had to go with Fury from the Deep. I love this one because the Doctor almost lost it. It is very dark and the characters are absolutely pitch perfect.

And it says something that Web of Fear AND Tomb of the Cybermen are in this season as well, because I love them both.

Lots of great stories in this season. It's such a shame so much of it is missing. My vote has gone to The Web Of Fear

My vote here goes to Tomb. It's a classic classic and one of my favourite Cyberman stories.
