The 6th season of Doctor Who began on 10 August 1968 with the first story of season 6 The Dominators and ended Patrick Troughton's reign as the Doctor with its final story The War Games, but which is your favourite?

A couple of really strong stories here, but my vote goes to The Mind Robber, which is one of my favourite Doctor Who stories ever.

I was torn between The War Games and The Mind Robber, but The Mind Robber gets it.

Some very strong stories and some... er, not so strong ones.  My shortlist was The Mind Robber, The Invasion, The Seeds of Death and The War Games, but I went with The Mind Robber, for sheer weird fun.

Of the ones I have seen, The Mind Robber has been my favourite, so I have voted for that one, also.

I love The Mind Robber, but I've gone with The Invasion.

Gonna go with The Seeds of Death because I think it is the best and certainly the most imaginatively directed. Also loved the quirkiness of taking over the Earth with soapsuds and a white balloon?

The Mind Robber was good but a bit uneven for my money. Also contains what must be the cheapest Dr Who effect ever when one of Medusa's serpents is the side of somebody's hand!

The War Games is also very good and contains that proto-Master, the War Chief.
Kind of liked the Krotons as well. Even The Dominators was not as bad as some people say.

Overall an incredibly strong series. Only The Space Pirates is the real clunker I think, and even that had its moments.

I really thought The War Games would take this one but it hasn't had a single vote so far. My vote was used on The Mind Robber.

I've voted for The Invasion. Lots of good stories (and a few bad), but I love that one most.

The War Games got my vote. It's long and sags a bit in the middle, but its an excellent story nonetheless.

The Mind Robber gets my vote here. It's an excellent concept with some brilliant themes running through it. It's totally absurd, but that sort of adds to the appeal for me.

For me, it was the Seeds of Death. The basic premise is a little wonky (the only way to get to the moon is by T-Mat and the Doctor, Jamie and Zoe just rock up and waltz into a rocket) but if you accept those wonky premises then its a great little story. Some very strong contenders though - The Invasion was a particular favourite and the War Games is amazing as well

I liked the Mind Robber but I tend to go more for the "Action" ones.

At last, another voter for The Seeds of Death! I'm kinda surprised how The Mind Robber has been waltzing away with it. Its a good story, but I guess I'm not so keen on these out-of-time stories. Wasn't that keen on The Celestial Toymaker or, to take a more recent example, The Doctor's Wife either.

The other thing I like about The Seeds of Death is that the characters were a little more complex and ambiguous, like the cowardly worker who assists the Ice Warrior, and the professor whose rocket the Doctor has to use to get bak to the Moon. It did hae its weak points as well, I admit, like when the Doctor is transmatted to another part of the Moon station.

I think it's a tad overrated. The Ice Warriors are now iconic and were already popular then, but to me it's them and not the story that's good. The plot is pretty basic.

There are stronger stories plot-wise, sure (though I am not sure they are in this season). What really sets The Seeds of Death apart is the direction -- the camera taking the Warrior's own point of view, for instance. Possibly the effect is a little spoiled if you know from the start that it is an Ice Warrior story (some rate the 1st Ice warrior story more highly, but with a large part of it missing its difficult to tell). Contrast this with the 3rd Doctor story Day of the Daleks, which is awfully directed and creates no kind of suspense at all.
