Two number ones covered the span. The Minute You're Gone by Cliff Richard for one week and Ticket to Ride by the Beatles for three weeks.

Two more songs I don't think I've ever heard Me either. I can't say I am fans of either artist, though.

Part of me wishes I could say that about the Cliff one, but I was raised by a Cliff obsessive so the minute I read the title the song started playing in my head I love Ticket to Ride though. It's the only song I've ever sung in karaoke - in a group mind as I wouldn't inflict my voice on anyone!

I was never particularly a fan of Cliff, but he was our local boy made good when I was a kid, so I took notice (even though he went to the "other" school). He did make some decent enough records in the 50s and 60s, but I don't remember this one.

Wrong year. That one was 1966.
