Doctor Who: The Adventure Games have been shelved by the BBC. Executive producer Simon Harris said that the firm will now focus on other Doctor Who game projects instead. "Right now there are no current plans to develop any more Adventure Games. Obviously we've got the browser-based MMO Doctor Who: Worlds In Time, we have other plans for other platforms and formats and we'll be announcing those. "But right now The Adventure Games have done a great job, and they've been done, we're now going to move forward with the The Eternity Clock and we'll continue to develop those plans as we go ahead." It is unknown whether the three remaining games from 'series 2' will be released, though it is unlikely.

My reaction is . It's a little sad though seeing as they were so popular! Well the first 4 (apart from the TARDIS one) all seemed popular, but maybe the Gunpowder Polt wasn't as popular as they expected it to be?

As far as I know the latest one did better than the final two from the first run. It just seems like another exercise in throwing money away from the BBC. Once again they spent money making something ony to not bother putting it out there. I know they aren't exacty making money back off it, but they won't be losing any more either.

That's true... Shame though- I bet some parents with kids who like Doctor Who just sit their kids down to play the adventure games if they want to keep them quiet for a little while!

Probably. They seemed reay popular with all ages, which I think was a large part of their appeal. I think perhaps with The Eternity Clock due for release the BBC may have been asked not to release any more. With something so popular being given away for free, why would people then pay £40 for the Playstation/PC version. I'm not saying it's an either/or situation, but perhaps they are worried that they would put a dent in sales or something?

True, cause although the Eternity Clock looks amazing, I would still probably download the free ones as opposed to spending that much on a PC/PS3 game!

Maybe we can hope they release the other three once The Eternity Clock has been launched properly, so that they don't impact on that.

Aw that sucks. Not everyone can afford to go and pay £40 for a game, and the Adventure games woud have been a good way to bridge the gap between the two. I'll probably pick up The Eternity Clock, but it's a shame that these had to be shelved because of it.

It's a shame, but the last couple weren't so great imo. Do we even know if the other three have been made yet, or have they been cancelled before production?

That really sucks. I thought they were great. Well, TARDIS was a bit crap but the others were good.

I don't mind so much. It's a shame that they won't be coming back, but we got five free games so we can't really complain.

Without a doubt, this is a ploy to get people to pay for the Playstation game. It's a shame.
