Season 9 of Doctor Who began on New Year's Day 1972 with Day of the Daleks and ran through to June, ending with The Time Monster. Jon Pertwee continued in the role of the Doctor with Katy Manning as his companion Jo Grant. Roger Delgado returned for two appearances as the Master and the characters of UNIT remained in a recurring capacity. The Daleks make their return to the series in the first story, the planet Peladon is introduced in the second while the Sea Devils make their debut in the third. Which story was your favourite?

My vote goes to The Curse Of Peladon. I don't find this season particularly strong and I think it get's progressively weaker as time goes on. DayOTD was good but bot the best of the Dalek stories, The Sea Devils I have always found to be overrated, The Mutants was just ok and The Time Monster was pretty awful. Curse of Peladon was a great story with some excellent characters. I don't like it's sequel so much, though.

I think all of them are decent enough, but I would probably go for 'Curse' also.

I'd agree it wasn't one of the stronger series. I considered Curse, but went with The Sea Devils.

I own three of these (2,3 and 4) but have only seen two (2 & 3). Of the two I have seen I preferred The Curse Of Peladon and so while the three I haven't seen might be better, that one gets my vote.

Not really a season of greats, this one. I gave my vote to The Sea Devils, but I only marginally prefer it over others.

The Curse Of Peladon gets my vote. It's the only one on the list I think is better than ok.

The Sea Devils. I've only seen two and I liked them both but I think that one was better.

The Curse Of Peladon gets my vote, but The Sea Devils was close.

The Sea Devils is as far as I've got in my rewatch. I think its better than the first two, but I agree its not great and probably wouldn't get more than a 3. Day of the Daleks was pretty bad, I thought. The director seemed to have no clue how to generate tension or excitement. Peladon was OK, but the whodunnit format was a bit cliched. How many times have we seen it that the character who has an unsuccessful attempt made on their life turn out to be the villain? Still, it wasn't bad, and interesting to see Patrick Troughton's son.

I've voted for Curse. It's a terrific story with a great cast and and excellent mix of aliens. The sequel to it was nowhere near as good but this first Peladon story is great.
