The reason the President calls himself the 'President Elect' is because RTD didn't know what it meant. He thought it meant he was the current full president, which is what he intended the character to be.

I noticed that the actor that played the man talking with the Master in the cabinet before he gassed them all is the same guy who played Lumic's number two in Rise of the Cybermen.

Not really that cool, just something I always loved about this show, the way they can move actors back in and get away with it.

Utopia is the first episode in the revived series to credit three main cast members within the title sequence, with the addition of John Barrowman.

RTD started a rumour that it was the Rani who picked up the Masters ring (and I was gutted when it wasn't)

The Master's clothes are identical to those worn by Kamelion when he was in Lanzarote and on the planet Sarn, apparantly.

That would have made TEOT so much better!

I actually just had to go look what the difference was. Easy mistake to make I suppose.

The inspiration for the sound of the four drum beats came from an annoying alarm clock that RTD heard.

Tish Jones' outfit is reused from Dalek in the first series where it was worn by Van Statten's Secretary.

They should have made this happen. Imagine how good TEOT would have been with the Doctor, Master and the Rani running round. It certainly couldn't have made it any worse, anyhow.

I know it's been ages since this runs of eps was watched but I stumbled across this random fact yesterday so thought I'd add it.

"I Can't Decide" by the Scissor Sisters was not officially released as a single, but charted at #64 on downloads alone, on the strength of being used in "Last of the Time Lords"
