Some interesting updates in those two posts, and they definitely lend weight to the idea of a massive find, but nothing that I would say that is confirmation of a Doctor Who find, even if 8000 reels have been rediscovered. However, there's been nothing so concrete so far that has made me sure that this is a load of rubbish. I'm still more inclined to think that something is coming back

There seem to be more and more whispers of a big announcement coming, and if it is related to this at least we will all know one way or the other. I can't see them doing it at the China thingy later this month though, as some people are suggesting around the web.

Well DoctorWhoOnline said a few months back that the BBC had given them permission to reveal something big and they set a date for the announcement of whatever it was, but the announcement never came and they said it would come at another time because whatever it was they were meant to announce wasn't ready. May not be related, but certainly another avenue for speculation.

I'd heard about that but I thought it was about the Capaldi announcement.

No, I'm pretty certain they said it wasn't relating to that.

So the huge haul is real, but may or may not contain missing Who? Well I suppose that makes the possibility a lot higher, which is cool.
And the denial from the BBC about 'new finds' is just pish.
The inclusion of those searching people on a DW DVD is odd, given that they have no relation to the show, officially.
And Anneke Wills' comment is as good as confirmation of Power of the Daleks, I'd say. And the fact she was so publicly told not to talk about it makes me think there is something to talk about in the first place.
I'm definitely becoming more of a believer, but my heart won't break if it leads to nothing.

Missing episodes found - BBC ArticleI'll be honest, I wasn't expecting it yet, but it's nice to know I wasn't mad!

Here's the info from the BBC: It’s been announced that 9 missing episodes of Doctor Who have been discovered. All the episodes are from the Second Doctor’s era and come from two stories – The Enemy of the World and The Web of Fear.
The Enemy of the World first aired on BBC One in December, 1967. Episodes 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 had been missing from the BBC archives but have now been found which means that a complete version of this classic six-parter now exists.
Episodes 2 – 6 of The Web of Fear were feared lost forever but now episodes 2, 4, 5, and 6 have been recovered. This means that now, aside from episode 3, this adventure also exists in its entirety.
Both stories star Patrick Troughton as the Doctor plus Frazer Hines as Jamie and Deborah Watling as Victoria. The Web of Fear introduces the much-loved character Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart (later known as the Brigadier) whilst The Enemy of the World is unique insofar as Patrick Troughton also stars as the story’s main villain – the evil Salamander.

Well, in spite of the speculations about far more creating a feeling almost of letdown, I'm celebrating this. Two fine stories more or less recovered. I presume episode 3 of TWOF will be getting the animation treatment.

Judging by the dates being given on Amazon for the DVD releases I would think that is likely (The Enemy of the World is due in November & The Web of Fear not til February).

Not wanting to further fuel the fire, based on the fact it turned into a big row last time, but have the BBC said that this is ALL they have found? Is it possible more could be coming, like ETS predicted?

The quote from the announcement of these two stories is all we have from the BBC at this point.
